Treecycle Genoa is a young company which aims to offer innovative and quality tourist routes in the Old Town of Genoa, using electrical vehicles. The rickshaws can easily move in pedestrian areas, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the local sights, located in the heart of the largest medioeval centre of Europe. Why do we use rickshaws?
TreeCycle will take you on the discovery of the largest medieval historical centre in Europe, made up of fascinating hidden alleys, unknown even to the Genoeses themselves. The old town is pedestrian, that's why rickshaws are the best and only means of transport: the vehicles can go through the steep, narrow alleys and since they're electric, they're ecological! Ours drivers will be at your disposal during the entire tour, and they will entertain you with stories about Genoa and its illustrious inhabitants. You're also free to ask our drivers to stop the vehicle any time to take photos or have a coffee.
"caruggi", what are they ?
The caruggi are the heart of the historic center, where the life of the inhabitants of Genoa unfolds. They are narrow, sometimes dark, have an immense historical value and hide picturesque and unexpected spots. Just look up to admire incredible inlays, decorated ceilings and medieval marbles. All the historic center of Genoa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
